blacs1-pvm software package provides Basic Linear Algebra Comm. Subprograms - Shared libs. for PVM, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install blacs1-pvm
blacs1-pvm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the blacs1-pvm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep blacs1-pvm *
You will get with blacs1-pvm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
